WITHIN OUR LIFETIME NATIONAL NETWORK

From its beginnings in 2012, when an inspired group of people came together, WOL was clear that the work of healing from the insidious multi-generational impact of structural racism, would be complex and emergent.

WOL was clear that creating a sense of momentum and possibility was critical to dismantle systemic racism, and sustain ourselves in the long fight for racial justice.

Although we formally sunsetted in 2018, the strength of relationships and the legacy of our demonstration projects continues to support and nurture the movement for racial equity, justice and healing today.

THE SUNSET REPORT

After six years of powerful work, Within Our Lifetime National Network made the difficult decision to sunset. Network members continue to do deeply powerful work around the country, and we are grateful to the thousands of people who engaged in the aspiration of ending racism within our lifetimes.

With the support of an incredible Archivist & Writer, Julia Smith, and the amazing illustrator, Megan J. Smith, we want to share our “story of WOL.”
